It is with a heavy heart that we share this news of the passing of our Dad, Partner, Grampa, Great Grampa, Brother, Uncle and friend George Sweetman.

George was predeceased by his wife Nicole and has left behind his loving partner of 29 years Vera. He was the backbone of the Family leaving behind his daughters Debbie (Craig), Darlene (Sean) and grandchildren Dylan, Taylor (Andrea), Nicole, Madison (Adam), Jillian and his great granddaughter Jordyn.

He is fondly remembered by his siblings Bonnie, Connie and Johnny and their partners. He was adored by his Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Family.

He was a proud and respected York Township Firefighter where he served for 30 years. He had a heart transplant 25 years ago which enabled us to create and cherish so many more memories together as a Family.

His place of happiness was the Family cottage(s) where we spent quality time with Family and Friends throughout the years. Family was very important to him.

He encountered many obstacles over the years with great determination, a sense of humour, courage, a will to live and a positive attitude. He passed at home with loved ones by his side.

We would like to thank Toronto General Hospital, and the Transplant Team for the additional 25 years of life we were able to share with him. We will always cherish those additional bonus years and are grateful for everything you do for Families like ours.
