George Schoen, 89, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was sadly involved in an accident whereby he was struck by a motor vehicle that took his life.

George is survived by his children and their families. Andrea, Aidan & Candice, and Robert, Ana, Ava & Natalie, and Claudia, Darren & Jenson. George was predeceased by his wife Christa Feuerstake in May 2021.

George was born in Oberlangnau Germany in 1933, and emigrated to Canada when he was 18 years old. He made friends quick, worked hard for all he accomplished, and built a new life for himself.

In 1988 George met Christa and their most fulfilling and joyous pastime was travelling the world together to the most exotic destinations as well as celebrated many German festivities.

George was a warm hearted, loving man that knew how to laugh and have a joyful time. You could definitely find George with a couple of lottery or scratch tickets in his pocket at any given moment.

His memorial reception will be held at Turner & Porter Erin Mills on Monday May 8th from 5pm to 8pm. It will be a casual gathering with light snacks and beverages for friends and family whereby you can offer your condolences and pay your last respects.

We would also like to celebrate George’s life by acknowledging his birthday because on May 17th, he would have been 90 years old. So if you want to bring a balloon instead of flowers, you are more than welcome.
