In Celebration of

George Oreskovic

August 20, 1943 -  August 10, 2019

Our loving father, George, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10 at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen; devoted son, John and daughter-in -law, Tammy; his dear brother Ivica and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Mate and Niko.

Born and raised in Gospić, Croatia, George found his way to Canada in 1966 where he would marry the love of his life and start his family. Dad was an employee of INCO for 18 years and retired from Cooksville Steel in 2008. In dads retirement, he enjoyed taking long walks with mom, working in his basement shop, and helping his neighbors in whatever way he could, be it fixing an errant lawnmower or crawling through an upstairs window to open a front door when the keys were locked inside.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for research on Glioblastoma be sent to The Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Trust of Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

A luncheon to celebrate George’s life will follow the interment at Holy Trinity Croatian Church, Oakville.
