It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Henry Arthur Dall on October 16, 2014. He died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at Specialty Care in Mississauga, Canada at the age of 94.

He lived a full and fascinating life across three continents. He was born on September 6th, 1920 in Jabalpur, India to parents Henry Arthur Dall and Teresa Dall (neé Shanahan). He married Cynthia Dall (neé Gotting) and they moved to London, England in 1951. Cynthia and George had two daughters, Glenys and Trudie. He moved to Mississauga, Canada, in 1972, where he lived the last 4+ decades of his life. He did, however, remain a true ‘English Gentleman’ through and through.

He is predeceased by his wife Cynthia, his second wife Eileen, and his siblings Esther, Stanley and Noel. He is survived by his two daughters, Glenys Stollstorff and Trudie Messent, and his four grandchildren, Melanie, Martin, John and Susanna.

Details of the Visitation, Funeral Mass and Reception are listed below. George will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Cynthia at Assumption Catholic Cemetery on Friday the 24th at a private ceremony for immediate family only.

A huge ‘thank you’ to the staff at Specialty Care Mississauga, who were incredible in their care for George towards the end of his life. We would also like to thank the many individuals who visited George regularly, including Trixie and Janice Gotting, Pat and Basil Pearce, Isabel Schlosser, Georgette and Steve Gemson, Lise and Michael Murray, and Elwyn Davies. This list is not exhaustive, as there would be far too many to name. He was well loved.

George was a kind, warm-hearted man who loved and took care of so many. He was ultimately a “Family Man”, putting his family first always. Words like, “Super Gramps/Dad/Uncle” are used to describe him. He had a wicked sense of humour and his jokes and antics will be forever remembered with a chuckle and a smile.
