George Da Silva, aged 57, passed away on April 2, 2026, at his home in the loving care of his devoted wife Tracey.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife and ever-loving family. George was known for his strong work ethic, unwavering integrity, dedication to mentoring others and sincere devotion to those he loved. He was a man of deep faith who lived his beliefs with strength and grace. His generosity, kindness and vibrant spirit will never be forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Despite George’s ongoing medical challenges throughout his life, George persevered, with remarkable strength and positivity, serving as a true inspiration to others. George and Tracey will be forever grateful for the exceptional care that he received from SickKids Hospital as he was growing up and then from St. Michael’s Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and Dorothy Ley Hospice.
George spent over 30 years in construction management, a career he deeply loved and took great pride in.
George cherished the time he spent with Tracey and their dogs, Hopey, Aspen & Bella. He took immense pride in their home and was always working on renovations, striving for perfection in every detail. His other passion was his Donzi boat, dedicating many hours to perfecting it to his high standards.
Above all, George will be remembered for his deep love and devotion to Tracey. He will be dearly missed by his loving mother Marta, his sister Fatima, brother-in-law Scott, and his brother Helder. He will also be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Sheila & father-in-law Don, his brother-in-law Jeff & sister-in-law Megan, and by his many nieces, nephews, godchildren and other family members and friends who loved him so dearly.
A visitation and funeral will be held on April 8 at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm followed by the service at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dorothy Ley Hospice, Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation.
