Passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Peggy). Loving father of Gillian (Bill), and Stephen (Janet). Proud Papa of John (Christine), Kristy, Harmony and Emilee. Loving great grandfather (GG) of A.J. and Landon. Family was the most important thing to George; he was loved by all and will be missed by many. Dad was always the consummate professional and an Icon in the Re-Insurance industry for over 50 years. He worked with Sterling Offices of Canada, was an owner of Universal Re-Insurance Intermediaries and was instrumental in the creation of Pembridge/Pafco. Dad was an excellent athlete, playing First Division football (soccer) in England; he was an outstanding boxer and a long time golfer at York Downs GC and for 40 years at Mississauga GC. Our family would like to thank all the very special angels at Sunrise Seniors Living for their love, comfort, care and respect they always showed our Dad. We would also like to thank the exceptional nurses at Credit Valley Hospital who cared with respect and compassion for our Dad in his final days. George’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Turner & Porter ‘Neweduk- Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Parkway), on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 2-5 p.m., with words being spoken at 3:30 p.m. For those who wish memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
