In Celebration of

Geleong Apong

February 25, 1948 -  January 20, 2022

Geleong Apong was an incredibly kind, generous and caring man. He was always readily available to help those in need and never asked for anything in return. He was also extremely intelligent and if you ever had the pleasure of watching Jeopardy alongside him you may have witnessed him answering all the questions way before the contestants could even buzz in. It was so special to watch. He was a true genius yet so humble, warm and loving.

Geleong passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital on January 20, 2022 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Martha for over 35 beautiful years. The most loving father to Leon, Judith, and Andrea. A perfect dad in their eyes. Dearest son-in-law of Albertina Mejias. Cherished brother of Choylin, Jacqueline, Eucklyn, Sandra, Geyan, Geman, Kimmy, and the late Margaret (2020). Adoring uncle to all his nieces and nephews; and a supportive brother-in-law to many. He was an avid sports fan: he especially loved to watch every single sport on TV with Martha. He was a lifelong learner, music lover, a brilliant engineer and professional dad joke teller. Geleong was such an amazing, kind-hearted person and will be SO deeply missed by all his family members, friends and colleagues.

Geleong was the kindest, most gentle person ever. He had a quiet presence about him. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Geleong was a sweet, funny, kind and generous man. Leon Judith and Andrea never complained about him like kids often do about their parents. I’ve only ever seen him smile and laugh. A man who loved his family so much, is a man that will never be forgotten. I still remember being in kindergarten…Andrea and Geleong were placed next to my Dad and I for the classic “Dad/daughter egg toss” on Father’s Day. It was filled with laughter and smiles, it was a lovely memory I’m proud to share with him and one of his daughters. Thank you Geleong for being part of the creation of my two best friends. May you rest in paradise Pappa Apong. Lots of love from the Trichilo’s.

It was a pleasure meeting you, although we didn't know each other for much time i can understand why all of such high praises to your character are so true. It has been a pleasure and I have no doubt your presence will remain through the actions of your loved ones that were carved by your loving teachings.

No es un adios, pero un hasta luego
