At the insistence of Robin Ingle, I played a practical joke on Fred one fine morning:
I disguise my voice and informed Fred that I was calling from City Hall. It had come to our attention that Fred had done renovations in his basement. All of this was done without a permit. Fred insisted that all he done was put up a little piece of drywall. I responded that our informant had disclosed a significant renovation. I told him I would be coming to the house to inspect and that the inspection fee and fines would be significant. Fred was apoplectic. He informed me that he would be awaiting my arrival at the door.
I told Robin what had occurred. We decided it was best to inform Fred of our prank. We were concerned with what might happen should someone.just happen to knock on his door.
Fred (and family) always held a special place in our hearts. Fred & Donna were long time friends of Deans parents, Bob & Joan. They had many adventures together, and formed lasting memories. Fred was a gentleman, and a kind hearted man. Dean is forever honoured to have been able to spend time with Fred in his last residence. God speed, Fred! You’re the last to join your group of friends who have been eagerly awaiting your arrival, with your smile and gentle soul. Safe journey!
Fond memories of my friend, Fred. Will miss you.

I met Fred about a dozen years ago playing cards. It seemed as though we had been friends much longer and shared many interests. Through cards, we met an amazing group of friends, all with the "can do/will do" spirit. A blessing we shared. Now that we are moving to the next phase, I am sure there is BIG BAND music in the background, a card table at the ready, with Fred and his partner tripping the light fantastic, center stage until the next game begins. Enjoy, my friend.
We spent many happy hours playing cards with Fred at his home.
