In Celebration of

Freda Zasada (née Gebka)

Passed away peacefully at age 92 at Belmont House Long Term Care, Toronto. Freda was predeceased by her husband John, and sister Wanda. She is survived by her nieces Lisa (Henry) and Maria, and her great niece and nephew Emma and Nathaniel. Freda cared deeply about family and friends and will be remembered as a generous and kind aunt, great-aunt and godmother.

She enjoyed working as a legal secretary for many years, and was an avid bridge and tennis player. Freda was passionate about her home and garden, and loved to spend time enjoying her backyard.

We would like to thank the staff at Belmont House who provided exceptional care for Freda - from the nurses, PSWs and doctors, to activity and facilities staff. Your support, especially over the last month, is greatly appreciated.

A Visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontrario St. (Hwy 10, N. of QEW), Mississauga on Wednesday September 3, from 6-8 pm. A Service & Entombment will be held at the "Assumption Mausoleum", at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd. (at Derry Rd.), Mississauga, on Thursday September 4, 2025 at 2 pm.

Freda was a loyal friend and bridge partner to my late mother, Bernice Cooke (1918-1920). She very kindly kept in touch with my Mom & I, after my mother went into long term care. She also connected Mom with Nick, a gardener, who was always so helpful & still works in the neighbourhood. The game of bridge created lasting friendships & I appreciated Freda for her care & concern. Congratulations on a long life well lived.
