It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Francesco Antonio "Frank" Tassone announces his peaceful passing on Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by family, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Born in Serra San Bruno, Catanzaro, Italy on April 2, 1935, Frank came to Canada in 1952 in search of opportunity and a new beginning. Shortly after his arrival, he met the love of his life, Ida (née Fisico), with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and enduring love.
A gifted French polisher, Frank was known for his meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering pride in his work. His hands shaped beautiful creations that will remain in the homes of his family for generations to come, but it was his warmth, generosity, and loving nature that truly left the deepest mark on all who knew him.
Frank leaves behind his beloved sons Sam (Paula) and Joseph, and his cherished granddaughters Marisa and Stefania (Gianpiero). He will forever be "Booboo" to his great granddaughter Simona, who brought him immeasurable joy. Frank will also be lovingly remembered by his brother John (Teresa), his sisters Nicolina (late Nick) and Bruna (late Pietro), along with many nieces and nephews.
We take comfort in knowing that Frank is now reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Salvatore and Rosa, and his sister Tina (late Giuseppe).
Frank's legacy of love and dedication, along with his many words of wisdom, will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Our Lady of Mercy Wing, 2L Medicine. Their compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication provided comfort and dignity to Frank throughout his courageous battle. The family will never forget the kindness and care shown during such a difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Movember or the Canadian Cancer Society in Frank’s memory. Your support will help continue the fight against the disease he faced with such strength and courage.
