With his daughters by his side, passed away at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of Ivana for 63 years. Franc of Zimarice Slovenia, married his beautiful bride in 1958. After marriage and sometime in their home country of Slovenia they ventured off to Germany to start building and planning their life together.  In 1967, Franc and Ivana started a new chapter together when they arrived in Canada.   Franc spent his life working extremely hard to build a better life for himself, Ivana and their three daughters Andreja, Regina and Michele.  Franc loved to travel back to Slovenia for family vacations.  He took pride in hosting family celebrations where the entire family congregated in his home and enjoyed his homemade wine and listened to him sing aloud.  Franc was a tailor, a sharp dressed man who paid attention to detail and often made beautiful clothes for his family.  

Most important to Franc was his family, the love of his life for 63 years, Ivana was the center of his world.   He loved his daughters Andreja (Anton), Regina (Joseph) and Michele (Philip). Franc was a proud grandfather of 10 wonderful grandchildren Frank (Kristen), Matthew (Katie), Mark (Elizabeth), Jennifer (Matthew), Andrew (Shelby), Jacob, Lucas, Andrea, Daniel and Philip and eight great grandchildren Thomas, Abigail, William, Olivia, Gabriel, Mikaela, Frankie and Elliot.

Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, 739 Browns Line, Etobicoke, on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00am, with the family receiving visitors beginning at 9:30 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery. Due to the restrictions still in place surrounding COVID-19, space is limited, and all guests are required to register in advance.
