I remember him from drinking and eating with Tom at the Keating channel pub. A very happy soul with a twinkle in his eye.
It was always a pleasure seeing your Dad and enjoyed his little antics while having lunch with him on the outside patios! So, sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. May the beautiful memories of your father bring you comfort and stay with you forever. May he Rest In Peace.
I grew up with the Prokai family as close friend of Bunny and later on as a friend of Karen.
I remember Florian Prokai as a jovial man with a wonderful sense of humour and a keen interest in issues of the day. You could always have a very interesting conversation with him sitting at his kitchen table at Bell Royal Court. I also remember him as a devoted father who always accompanied his children to skating lessons and later competitions. He would always be there chatting with the other parents while keeping a keen eye on his daughter. So sorry for your loss and I wish the family peace in their time of grief.
To the Prokai family.
Many years ago, I was a struggling University student . I had landed a summer job at the Center of Forensic Sciences in downtown Toronto. It was a dream job but it paid crap. There was no way I could accept that job AND live in Toronto.
I was about to pass on the job when your parents assured me that it would be okay to stay with them. I recall saying to Karen over and over..."are you sure?" Seriously...a 6th child? For several months I lived at Bell Royal. I felt part of the family. I vividly recall Mr. Prokai laughing and making jokes. He had a twinkle in his smile and laughter. I also recall some excellent Sunday meals. They were very good memories. It was a special time for me and part of launching my career.
Mr. Prokai holds a special place in my heart...it was a long time ago but never forgotten. To all the Prokais, Mrs. Prokai and Karen, my deepest sympathy, know that you are in my heart and prayers
Love,
Cathy (Millard) MacMillan
