Eva Sarah Keene (nee Pickering)

May 31, 1927 - February 7, 2026

Eva Sarah Keene (nee Pickering) passed peacefully on February 7, 2026 in Toronto at the age of 98. Eva was predeceased by her beloved husband Allan (1996) and parents (Wilfred and Urma) and brother Lloyd.

Eva is survived by her daughters Lynn (Joe), Gwen, Donna (Darren) and her sister Berniece. She will be missed by her grandchildren Adam (Clare), Erin (Brennan), Alanna (Zach), Sean and Brianna as well as great grandchildren Corlin, Benjamin and Teddy.

Eva grew up in a close knit family community in North Oakville and later moved to Islington where she raised her family and later in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Retirement years were spent in New Hamburg, Ontario where she enjoyed golf and bridge with friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Agecare Westbury’s 6th floor for their loving care over the past year.

Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

Dear Gwen and Alanna,
Thinking of you, Lynn and Joe and your extended family. Your mom was well loved and lived well.
In the end, as her spark faded, she knew how devoted you were to her and, how you ensured she was well looked after. Her spirit lives on in all of you and she will be missed.

Gwen, Alanna, Lynn, Joe and all your family, we express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your wonderful mother/grandmother. From the first day. I met her, when I was 13 years old, she always made me feel welcomed and like part of the family. She was a very elegant and kind woman and when I look at you Gwen and you Lynn, I can always see a part of her in each of you. You both took such good care of her in her later years and I know she was very appreciative and proud of both of you. She will be missed. May all the wonderful memories you have of her, keep her alive, and may the knowledge that she is now with your dad, bring you happiness. You have another angel looking out for all of you.
