In Celebration of

Eva Kral

March 29, 1928 -  May 24, 2017

Peacefully at the Hazelton Place, Toronto, ON on May 24, 2017. Predeceased by her husband Dennis Z. Kral. Loving mother of Michael (Karen) Kral and Martin (Laurie) Kral. Born in Brno, Czechoslovakia, grew up under German Occupation and WWII. Her father was a successful jeweller and property owner. Everything came to an end in 1948 when the communists took control of the country and all was nationalized. Her family escaped with her husband Dennis through Austria. They got a boat not knowing where it was going and ended up in Halifax as refugees. Dennis became a successful entrepreneur opening the first Holiday Inn outside the U.S. in Montreal. He created the largest privately owned hotel company in Canada. Eva was always by his side, raising Michael and Martin. She was always there for everyone. She loved to laugh.

The Kral family history is fascinating, amazing and borders on the miraculous.Escaping as refugees to a new country and being so productive to their new home in Canada. In business, social contacts and family life their key words were productivity and appreciation as Canadians Michael and Marty we share your sorrow with the loss of your mother. The driving force behind the scenes is always "mom" who nourishes, disciplines and motivates your aspirations and approves of your partnership in marriage. With the union with our daughter Laura we appreciate the union with the Paulette family as your mother was always most welcoming and hospitable to each of us.On behalf of all members of the family, we express our sincere sympathy
