Eugenia Czerny

May 16, 1927 -  May 21, 2016

Passed away peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Grenadier Nursing Home at age 89. Devoted wife of the late John. Loving mother of Chester (Claire), Barbara (Richard) Sadowski and Henry (Claudine). Cherished Babcia of Roman, Andrew, and Cameron. Fondly remembered by relatives in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, and Indiana. Retired employee of Dempster’s Bread. In addition to being an excellent cook of Polish foods, Eugenia also loved to draw, crochet, knit, sew, and play cards. Her creative hands were always busy. She was passionate about her gardens both at home and at the cottage. Special thanks to the staff at Grenadier and to nurse Krystyna of St. Elizabeth for their care of Eugenia. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (163 Annette St.) on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment Sanctuary Park. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
