In Celebration of

Ethan Daniel Reed

June 29, 2002 -  December 10, 2019

Our family is heart-broken to announce the untimely passing of our beautiful boy, Ethan Daniel Reed, who passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the age of 17 years. Ethan, the giving soul we knew him as, had registered as an organ donor earlier this year and has given the gift of life to several other young people. His selfless act of signing up to be an organ donor saved five people from life threatening illnesses, as well as several others who will now have a better quality of life. Our boy, Ethan is a true hero. He gave more to the world than he ever received in return.

He was tenacious and curious and always mastered what he did very quickly. Ethan was deeply passionate and his sense of humour was a gift to all those who knew him. He loved taking care of animals. He will always be remembered as a gentle, caring, warm, big blue-eyed, special young man who had an immeasurable bond with his brother.

Ethan will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Shannon McShane-Reed and Stephen Reed; his brother, Spencer Reed; maternal grandfather, John McShane Sr.; uncles and aunts, Damian and Pauline, Alison and Tom, John and Madelene; paternal grandparents, Philip and Marilyn; cousins, Mairead, Leah, Alexandra, Nicholas, Austin, Brianna, Corrina; numerous extended family and friends; and his Leeside Family. Ethan was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Margaret McShane; paternal grandmother, Barbara Reed; and uncle, John McShane Jr.

A Public Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter – Neweduk - Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Monday, December 16, 2019 at 3:00 – 8:00pm. A private Funeral Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the building of the new Sick Kid’s hospital to continue Ethan’s legacy of helping others. Donations can be made to Sick Kid’s Foundation, 525 University Avenue, Suite 835, Toronto, Ontario, M5G 2L3. http://my.sickkidsdonations.com/EthanReed

To celebrate Ethan’s life and lively spirit please wear bright colours, tye-dye welcome.
