In Celebration of

Ernest (Ernie) Virag

May 27, 1943 -  January 31, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernie Virag of Huntsville, Ontario, on January 31, 2025, at the age of 81.

Ernie, beloved husband of Rosemary, loving father to his daughters Alesse (Rob) Antonik and Cindy (Scott) Ellis, and proud grandfather to Jessica, Robbie, and Coulson.

Ernie cherished the simple joys of life, particularly spending time at home by the lake, going fishing, annual hunting seasons, and the breathtaking sunsets up north. But the thing he loved most was his many creative projects. Ernie was always looking at how he could make something better, or create a way to make things easier not only for himself but for others he cared about. A man with a big heart, Ernie was always there for others, offering help without expecting anything in return.

Ernie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas St W, Mississauga, on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10 a.m., a chapel service to immediately follow at 11 a.m.

Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery, 2845 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke.

Guests are invited to return to Turner & Porter for a light reception following the internment.

It's had been a great honor to know, and be a friend of Ernie Virag. A LOVING SOUL with a big heart and loving family. He was amazing at his work and home project's, a self made man. Well travelled . A charitable PERSON to all he meet on his travels through his life. His LAUGH and smile will be missed. He was a gemini sign and we all teased him about that. Loved him dearly for just being the sweet person Ernie was! HIS LOVE of fishing and hunting and knowledge will be missed.

It is with heavy heart that I mourn the passing of my good friend Erie. I fonly remember the good times spent laughing & joking with my friendfrom Mary Lake, he was like a brother to me. Ernie was the type of person who welcomed you unconditionally and took a sincere interest in you . He always made himself availalbe whenever you needed a helping hand, in fact he would give you "the shirt off his back" . His caring and generosity for other people is a testament to a character which made him someone everyone wanted to be around. Mary Lake will not be as charming without him!
My deepest sympathies to Rosemary, Alesse, Cindy and families. He will truly be missed. May GOD the father bless you & protect , May his face shine upon you & be gracious unto you ,May he look upon you with favour & give you PEACE!
With Warm Affection Paul Volz
