Dearest Baba,
I will never forget everything you have taught me. The time I went to PEI and all you asked for was Red Sand, you were so happy when I brought it back. Or when we would come to Mount Forest and we could not walk down the street with out everyone saying hello to us by name as everyone knew about us. I will miss your smile I will miss your love for everyone. I am so great full my girls got to meet you.
Love you always.
May you Rest In Peace

It breaks my heart at Elsie’s passing. I get up as a friend to Janet, Vicky, Mike and Ricky. Elsie became a second mom to me. I loved her dearly. I will always treasure my memories of Elsie. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family. Godspeed Elsie. You are now in the arms of God. ❤️❤️
Our parents give us life.
Our grandparents give us a sense of whom we are and where we came from.
This week, as we say goodbye to Baba, it hit me how incredibly lucky we have been to have had a grandmother that has been with us for so long. For me it has been 40 amazing years and she has been an integral part of our lives.
It is rare for a grandparent-grandchild relationship to be so essential and so long lasting but that was Baba, she was that exceptional kind of person every day of her life.
Until the last couple of years after her stroke, Baba had more energy and get up and go than anyone I have ever known. Baba was living on her own, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and taking her weekly trips to the doctors, dentist, nutritionist and of course the dollar store. She was lucky to have close grandchildren (especially Darrell), and children too to have her run here and there with her, or to fix a lightbulb. I remember many adventures that she took us on while spending time with her at the Kent, Trips to the local pool with a visit to KFC on the way home. Library visits where she encouraged us to listen to French CDs because she knew I was going to be a teacher! Trailer visits and of course all our mini shopping adventures.
Baba was an incredible matriarch. She was the real leader in our family. She had no trouble whipping up meals for 20 people and running a business at the same time. She loved teaching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all her secret recipes of cabbage rolls and perogies. It always seemed that everything she made was delicious.
I want to come back to the fact that we were so lucky to have a grandmother with us for so long. Baba you have impacted all of us in so many ways and have shaped us to be who we are today. We will always love you and have a special part of you in our hearts. Enjoy your time with Grandad and Aunt Vicky, Uncle Mike and all your siblings up in heaven. Keep watching over us, until we meet again.
