Passed away peacefully at the Village of Humber Heights on Saturday, February 2, 2019, age 97. Beloved wife of W. Peter Hobbs, dear mother of Stuart (Camille) and Pat. Loving grandmother of Aymeric. Predeceased by brothers, George, Douglas (Letty) and Gordon (Joanne), Elma remained close to her nieces and nephews and their families.
Elma was proud to have served as a WREN for the duration of WW11. After immigrating to Canada in 1951, she along with Peter were active members of Kingsway - Lambton United Church, with Elma being President of the UCW for several years. Running the Treasures Table at the Church’s annual flea market was one of her favourite projects. An avid knitter all her life, Elma continued to make scarves and hats for those in need.
The family would like to thank the staff of Humber Heights as well as Khadija Yasin and Elizabeth Berko, the two caregivers who treated Elma with much love and compassion in the last few months.
