I only lived next door to Elizabeth from when I was age 2 until age 9. But I have three very clear memories. First, that it was rather incredible that my parents' names were Fred and Elizabeth too! (they all found that pretty interesting when they moved in next to each other!). Second, back in those days, Mrs. Istl used to enjoy sitting in her backyard hammock (which gave me a life-long desire to own one like she had!). And third, that she used to have wonderful toenail polish -- making her seem very exotic! I believe that she also gave out pretty good Halloween treats! Thinking about you and remembering a very pretty woman.
Dear Yvonne,
We heard of your sad loss of your mother, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I will always remember all the nice chats I had with her during my days at the Austrian Consulate, and meeting her at numerous other occasions. She was a wonderful lady,
Sincerely,
Louis and Karin Kalchhauser

Dear Yvonne,
our heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your loss. As we have been friends since our arrival in Canada in 1976, we shared so many wonderful and happy memories in all those 40 years. We were fortunate having had Elizabeth as our friend.
She was a lovely and gracious person and we shall miss her.
