August 16, 1937 - March 5, 2017

Passed away peacefully at Weston Terrace Care Centre on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Beloved wife of David Jones, married 52 years. Loving mother of the late Colin Jones. Born in Scotland to Thomas and Maisie Purves. Sister to James, Helen, Jeanie, Thomas and Mary. Our heartfelt thanks to the nurses and PSW’s of Weston Terrace 3 East for their loving care of Elizabeth. Friends will be received at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel (4933 Dundas St. W., Toronto) on Friday, March 10 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 11 from 10-11 a.m. Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society.

Hello David and Patrick,
our sincerest condolences go out to you over the passing of Elizabeth. We felt very honored to have known her - she was a bright and passionate woman who seemed absolutely fearless.
I'm glad we had a chance to spend time together at our cottage a few years ago to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. We will treasure that day and memory forever. With fondest love and affection, Lisa and Domenic Oppedisano - Anne and Derek Saunders daughter and son in law.

You so often proudly introduced yourself as my second mother. And I couldn’t agree more. Your support over the years has always been there. You carpooled us to school, chauffeured us everywhere else, helped with school projects, fed us well, etc, all while keeping a watchful eye from a distance. You just simply took care of us boys. You always welcomed me into your home for visits, parties, celebrations, sleepovers, whether it was days, evenings, weeknights or weekends. The Jones household has and always will be one of the most welcoming places. There is simply so much more I could say, but I’ll keep it simple with a great big thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me in the last 40 years, I appreciate it so very much.
