In Celebration of
Elaine Wright
February 16, 2021
WRIGHT, ELAINE (née FULLER) 1945-2021.
It is with heavy hearts the family announce Elaine’s peaceful passing in hospital, after a long battle with ovarian cancer, on Tuesday morning, Feb 16, 2021. She was born in England, to parents Agnes and Frederick Fuller. She became lifelong, dear friends with Madeleine and Pauline. She attended Pitman’s Secretarial College in Yorkshire. In 1967, shortly after marrying Graham Wright (husband of 21 years, deceased 2006), she emigrated to Canada. She worked as a secretary at McGill University and in the insurance industry. They eventually settled in Ottawa where she birthed and raised two boys and focused on being a homemaker. She enjoyed attending live rock concerts, playing darts, and Scrabble. There was a special place in her heart for animals. She loved the beaches of Mallorca, Florida, and Ocean City, MD. Elaine is survived by her beloved sons, Mark (Hanna) and Adam (Winnie), and dearly cherished grandchildren, Maxwell and Amelia, as well as her mother Agnes, sister Sharon Reed, and nephew Kyle Reed (Diana). She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Her family wishes to express its gratitude to the caring staff of Toronto’s Princess Margaret Hospital.
In light of Covid restrictions, there will be a small private funeral attended by immediate family which will be live streamed for relatives and friends on Thursday February 25, 2021. The link for accessing the live stream, as well as the time of the service, will be made available on the funeral home website the day before.
