In Celebration of

Edward Godin

November 16, 1942 -  February 28, 2019

Edward Godin passed unexpectedly on February 28, 2019. He is survived by his wife Christiane, his sons Paul and Patrick, his sisters Jane and Mary and his brother John. He is predeceased by his father Kenneth, his mother Margaret, his sister Anne and his brothers Martin and Kiernan.

Born in Belleterre, QC, in 1942, Ed grew to become a man with an incredible capacity for kindness and an intense yearning to learn. You would seldom see him without a newspaper, book or a spark in his eyes when inspired by new ideas.

He piloted for Air Canada for over 30 years before semi-retiring and entering the fray of the stock market full-time. He built successful companies, traded and touched the lives of many in remarkable ways.

Ed was a loving husband, an inspirational father and a beacon of positivity to anyone with the good fortune to know him.

He will be sorely missed.

Friends are warmly welcome to attend Ed’s Visitation on Friday, March 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 625 Atwater Avenue on Saturday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer accepting donations to The Scott Mission.

Dear Christiane and the Godin family,
I was so shocked to hear Eddie passed away. Wow life is so precious and you don’t realize it fully until someone you know passes so suddenly. Eddie flew with Dad who had many stories crossing the pond with Eddie discussing the intricacies of the stock market. I would meet him in flight dispatch before my flight and would always be met with that boyish grin. We always a chuckle or two. We were also part of the Maple flying group crowd. Even though I haven’t seen Eddie in years I always have fond memories of him, Jane, and John. I am so sorry I will not be able to be at the funeral parlour or the mass as I am just too far away at this time. Please excuse my absence and accept my sincere condolences.

I was sitting in 1c and I saw the pilot door open . Doing a double take Eddie came out. After saying our Hello’s I suddenly felt a wave of sh... my pants ! Ed I know your a pilot and so am l and we had many discussions about flying but to actually seeing Eddie come out of cockpit was still out of context. I think it was London -YYZ Good flight great service being Ed’s friend. It repeated many other flights always fun coming home with familiar face. Ed I will always think of you when l board and wish you would pop out of the cockpit and talk flying and mining. Visibility Unlimited yyz out for now !
