It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edda Ghersini on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 100. Born in Trieste, Italy, on August 17, 1925, Edda lived a full and vibrant life, marked by love, strength, resilience and adventure.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marcello Ghersini, and is survived by her devoted children, Flavio Habal and Paola Papadimitriou, her cherished grandchildren Michael, Marcello, and Marlena, and her precious great-granddaughter Mia.

Edda and Marcello immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1966, a country she proudly called home. She worked diligently in the jewelry business, striving to maintain the standard of living she had always valued. Her kindness and thoughtfulness touched the lives of many, and she was a pillar of strength and grace for her family and friends.

Recently, the family joyfully celebrated her 100th birthday, a milestone she embraced with warmth and gratitude. After Marcello’s passing in 2017, Edda’s health gradually declined, and she was admitted to long-term care in 2022.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of 2 West at Kensington Gardens, who made her final years comfortable and joyful.

Edda will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and the legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew her.
