In Celebration of

Drago Galic

January 3, 1934 -  July 18, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Drago Galic, who departed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Drago was born in the serene village of Kongora, Croatia, a place forever cherished in his heart. His life's journey led him to Toronto, where he created a home filled with warmth and love.

Throughout his life, Drago was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to Matija, his beloved wife of 59 years.

A loving father to Dražana Marek (Anthony) with their children Katarina (Michael), Tomas, and Mathieu, and to Dr. John Galic (Maria) with their son Leopold. Drago was also a beloved uncle to Kata Knežević, her son John, wife Stephanie and daughters Veronica and Violet.

Drago is now reunited with his siblings Ilija, Ante, Božo, Kata, and Anđa in eternal peace. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness, and commitment to his friends, family and kumovi.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. on Wednesday, July 24th from 5-9 P.M. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 P.M.

Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Parish, 7 Croatia St. on Thursday, July 25th at 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Pokoj vječni daruj mu Gospodine. Počivao u miru Božjem!

Dear Matija, Drazana, John and families,

As a life-long good friend of our family, we remember Drago as being a very cultured, intelligent and kind man of deep faith who loved his family and friends. We also know that he must have been a great father too as is evident in the two wonderful children he raised Dražana and John. As a grandfather, he was very proud of his 4 grandchildren and always spoke lovingly of all of them. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

May the Good Lord grant Drago eternal peace and may you find comfort in the wonderful memories he left behind.

Deepest sympathies,

Joseph and Bess Belec

Dear Matija, Drazena, John and entire Galic Family,
Please accept our Alpeza family Deep Heartfelt Condolences, as for almost a quarter century, I had priviledge and the honour to to be Drago's " Best Neighbour and Good Friend as Drago was like a Second Father to me" !
Drago truly was a "pillar of strength and wisdom with his gentle spirit, kindness, and commitment" to family and friends, drawing inspiration from his deep faith in god, stemming from his tough childhood upbringing in "Hrvatska Rodna Gruda" (Tomislavgrad, Bosna i Hercegovina) so very similar to my own father Ante Alpeza, (Two Souls like One) that will live forever in my heart and in "all (the lucky ones) who (TRULY) knew him".
Dragi nas Drago, Pocivaj u Vjecnom Miru Bozijem!
