I met Winston way back in 2001 on his second trip to Ireland to play golf. He was a founding member of Doonbeg golf club in Co Clare, and always spoke of his joy and passion for the game and being part of something new here in Ireland. I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to partner Winston at an early member guest competition at Doonbeg. Through the backdrop of golf, our families formed a wonderful bond and the Irish side were so upset and devastated to hear the sad news of Winston passing.
Winston visited Ireland many times with different groups of golfers and family members, and was a great supporter of my golfing business from day one.
My son Sam passed away back in 2014 aged 21 and Winston and his family was there throughout it all, by our side, always on hand to chat and listen, a true and loyal band of friends. Ireland, and the general golfing world are a little less now, not having this wonderful man walk the fairways with us.
May he rest in peace.
What a terrific man, lots of great times and laughs in an around the golf course I am so saddened by his passing, and will forever remember him for his gracious comments (D players will understand) of encouragement and the many fun times we had whenever we shared a cart at the bogey club weekends.
Here's to Doc Winston!
Our deepest condolences to the whole family. In a life full of accomplishment, his family stands above all.
Find comfort in the love and memories you all shared🥰
Winston was one of the senior partners when I joined Credit Valley OB/GYN Associates in 1992. I appreciated his calm and easy-going manner.
He always knew how to savour the finer things in life!
My husband, Gideon, and I remember him fondly.
Our condolences to his family.
