Dr. Jaroslav O. Shklar

July 23, 1941 -  August 16, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, dido, brother, friend and physician on August 16, 2017. A man of many words, generous heart and deep humility, he worked tirelessly with compassion and understanding until his last days. A general practitioner for 50 years, a history buff, lover of classic movies and medical doctor of the Toronto Argonaut Football team (1977-1991). Jerry was both loved and respected by his patients and peers alike. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Omelian and Olga Shklar and his brother Zenon. Jaroslav leaves behind his heart broken wife Alla, his dearest children Liijanna (Paul), Andrei (Olena), Tania (Marko) Sasha (Batman) and his much adored grandchildren Zakary, Anton, Emilia, Alexya, Gabriel, Petra, Mattea and another on the way. Dr. Shklar will be missed by many extended family members here and abroad .Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (East of the Jane subway) on Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 12-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m with a panachyda at 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Prospect Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Ukrainian Foundation c/o Medical Missions to Ukraine or West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation.
