In Celebration of

Dorothy Eileen Mattachione

January 3, 1933 -  September 30, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our family matriarch, Dorothy Eileen Mattachione on September 30th 2025 at the age of 92. As a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend, she touched many lives and will be missed dearly.

Dorothy is survived by her four loving children, Judy (John), Nancy (Steve), Mary (Don) and James (Anna). Deeply admired by her grandkids, Johnnie, Jody, Jacey, Natalie, Jeffrey, Marcia, Marty, Charlene, Megan, Victoria and Jenevieve. And adored by her fourteen great grandchildren, Sophie, Margot, Dean, Cole, Reid, Amara, Bentley, Calvin, Jamie, Kyle, Marlie, Alexandra, Camila and Clara. The impact she had on all of us is beyond words and we are so grateful that such a strong, caring and beautiful woman was the backbone of our family.

Even with her passing, there is relief knowing she is reuniting with Tony, her beloved husband whom she shared 64 years with. He’ll be welcoming her with a hug, a kiss, a song on the guitar and a big bowl of pasta.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family and when she wasn’t taking the kids to the CNE, going shopping at the Eaton Centre or making her famous maple fudge, she was hard at work, providing for her family as an employee of KFC for over 25 years. She loved people and had a knack for making friends everywhere she went - and with her home having an open door policy, you never knew which new friend would be over for morning coffee. She was the type of woman everyone fell in love with because she had the gift of gab and an infectious laugh that made you feel at home. There wasn’t an outfit she couldn’t knit, a soap opera she wouldn’t watch and a BINGO hall she couldn’t conquer. Dorothy was light and love personified and heaven is lucky to have her.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Thursday, October 2nd at Turner & Porter, 1981 Dundas St. W Mississauga, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be at Turner & Porter, Friday Oct. 3rd at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Aunt Dorothy was a beautiful and compassionate lady who always had a kind word for everyone.
She was especially supported to my late mom after my dad passed and mom was struggling.
Love you and rest in eternal peace.
