In Celebration of

Dorothy Ann Kirk

July 16, 1929 -  July 19, 2017

Passed away at age 88 years and 3 days. Daughter of George Henry Knipshild, Sr. and Hazel Elizabeth Banks. Widow of John Aloysius Kirk, Mother of Kevin George Kirk. Quietly and peacefully, our Dorothy left this realm on Wednesday, just a few days after a wonderful celebration of her birthday. The sweetest Jersey Girl any of us will ever have known moved to Toronto from Montclair, NJ when she married John in 1958. Dorothy was active in the American Women's Club of Toronto for over 50 years. She will be lovingly remembered for her sensitivity and kindness towards the many friends she made & kept for decades. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 24th, 2017 in the chapel at 1 p.m.

I remember meeting Dorothy, many years ago, in her gorgeous ranch style bungalow, in Etobicoke. She was the epitome of grace and style. I know Kevin was loved.

Dear Kevin,

I was so sorry to hear that your dear Mum, Dorothy, had died. Your consolation will be that she left you quietly in her sleep and you were able to care and show your love to her as she journeyed. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Love Maureen

What a loss ! Dottie- as she was to me for me for 50 years - was such a wonderful person and friend despite the miles which separated us. I am happy to have known her, her warmth, her humour!

Good-Bye dear Dottie.

Dear Kevin, I was so sorry to hear of your Mothers' passing. You are in my thoughts.
Dottie was blessed to have you as her wonderful, caring son. None better than you Kevin. I know you will be comforted by the many happy memories of your Mother.
Sincerely, Clare
