In Celebration of

Doris Anne Wiensczyk

May 18, 1934 -  January 2, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Anne Wiensczyk (nee Richardson) on January 2, 2023 at the age of 88.

She passed away peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga with family by her side. Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter. Loving mother of Alan (Shannon) and Michael, step-grandmother to Heather and Colin (Kailey) and step great-grandmother to Theo and Luca. Sister to Olive Hume and Nora Cormack and sister-in-law to Lothar, Helmut (Valerie), and Armgard Golombek.

She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends here in Canada, and in the United States, Scotland and Germany. Anne loved playing piano, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed reading, crosswords, sewing, golf, badminton, Scottish dancing, watching murder mysteries on TV, and spending time at the family cottage. She was kind-hearted and generous and will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for early April. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anne’s memory to the MS Society of Canada, the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our sincere condolences Alan and Mike on the loss of your Mom. We too will miss her but we are thankful for having had the opportunity to know this wonderful lady.

I didn’t see Anne a lot, but when I did go for a visit, we never stopped talking. She was a fun person, loved her dancing and playing the piano at a nursing home nearby. Anne was a kind, giving person. She loved her garden but not all the work it took to keep it the way she wanted. Rest in peace, Anne.
