July 24, 1929 - July 28, 2018

Peacefully, on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Trillium Health Centre- Mississauga, at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd (died 1975). Loving mother of Brian (Tod Gilbert) and Susan (Christopher Batte). Cherished grandmother of Renée, Leah and Elaine.

Treasured sister of Joyce Dextras, Irene Howlett and Bob Walmesley, pre-deceased by sister May Hipson.

We have many fond memories of being in Doris’s company on special occasions like Christmas, Easter, baptisms and especially birthdays. Doris always treasured her relationship with her granddaughters and especially with her daughter and son-in-law.
Who could ever forget Doris’s fantastic and delicious Christmas pudding that she was so proud of. Even in her later years years, Doris was always up to date through her daily listening of her favorite programs on CBC. Regardless of the occasion, you could always depend on Doris for a spirited conversation on almost any topic as she was informed and carried an opinion on national and local issues. Doris will undoubtedly be sadly missed by her family and her many friends.

Our memories of Doris are of a very fine and elegant lady.She was so articulate and thoughtful in what she said. We attended beautiful dinners and family get togethers at Susan and Chris's home with Doris and she was so gracious ...Doris was devoted to Susan and Chris and her granddaughters, Renée, Leah, and Elaine. She will be missed.
