In Celebration of

Doris (Droese) Vorbrodt

April 5, 1937 -  August 7, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris (Droese) Vorbrodt on August 7, 2025 at the age of 88. She is preceded by her husband of over 40 years, Michael Vorbrodt and her 5 sisters, Feida, Gera, Helga, Christa and Vera. She is survived by her two children, Kathleen (Mark) and Steve (Jane) as well as by four grandchildren, Henry, Rachel, Fredrik and Michael.

Doris was a terrific homemaker, wife, mother, tennis player, bridge player, artisan, confidante, caregiver, friend and neighbor. She had a great sense of humour and a natural curiosity about the world around her. She gave selflessly and her greatest joy came from socializing with family and friends. Doris’ love for nurturing things was evident in her beautiful garden, which she carefully tended for over four decades.

The family is grateful to all the staff at Erinview Retirement Home for the care and compassion shown to Doris during her stay.

A celebration of Doris’ life will be held on August 25th at the Waterside Inn, Port Credit, Mississauga from 2 - 5pm.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure you know how much Doris is loved by so many people. She always had a positive and humorous remark to make that lifted our spirits. Our wonderful gardener, bridge player, tennis player and stained glass artist will be missed for so many, many reasons but most of all for just being Doris.
I just want to offer the family my most sincere sympathy.

She was strong, kind, interested in others, a great listener, and of course laugh-out-loud funny. I learned so much from her. With much love and respect, always. Rest in peace, Tante Dora.

I’m sad to hear the news Doris was always full of energy and welcoming me with delicious food when I visited her. I miss her smile. I regretted that I didn’t make more effort to see Doris before. Rest in peace 🙏
