Our sympathy to the families of Sam. He was always one I could talk about fishing with. I was able to spend time with him in his last month and will fondly remember the adventure we had together with Janice. May his soul rest in peace as he is reunited with his family beyond.

Janice Goudie (daughter Janice)

Dad started his career as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter in 1954. His first job was working in the tunnels under the hospitals downtown Toronto. The tunnels connected to SickKids, Toronto General, Princess Margret, and Mount Sini Hospitals. He worked with his father Fletcher and his brother Ivan who were also Pipefitters/Steamfitters and all belonged to the Local 46 Pipefitters Union. Dad was born with a fishing pole in one hand and a riffle in the other. The love of his life was his fishing pole and his little tin boat and motor. I would be hard pressed to say where he hasn't fished. Two of his closest fishing buddy's were his granddaughter Crystal and his grandson Kevin. Dad also made it a point to go Moose Hunting for many years with his sons Mike and Rob and his good friend Wade Sutton. We have many great pictures of dad with a moose or holding up a fish with a big grin on his face. I can remember being very young when we lived in Altona and waking up to a deer hanging in the tree in our front yard. That was dad he had to show how proud he was that he got that deer. He taught each and everyone of his kids and grandkids to fish and what pole and lure to use. We had many good times as children fishing with him but you could also get wacked on the butt with the paddle for talking and scaring his fish away lol. He was one of the best fisherman out there. Love you and miss you dad. Now you are fishing with the angles.
