In Celebration of

Donald F. Craig

December 1, 1925 -  September 2, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to such a special man on September 2, 2021. In his 95 years, he has touched the hearts of many people.

Loving Husband of 67 years of the late Marion (Gray) Craig. He will be missed dearly by his daughter Julie (Craig) Reynolds, son in law Michael, and grandchildren Jessie and Matthew.

He is succeeded by his sisters Phyllis (Craig) McGregor, Anne (Craig) Saddler, and brother James Craig. He is predeceased by his brother John Ian Craig.

Donald served in WWII in the RCAF and later in the Canadian Army. He retired in 1986 after 34 years with H.J. Heinz Co. During his retirement he was active in Several Fraternal Masonic orders, as well as the Mississauga Shrine Club.

Don loved to travel and tend to his garden. He often could be found reading books or relaxing on the weekend on his daughter’s deck. He was always looking for a new experience whether that was travel, a new restaurant or a new book.

In recent years he enjoyed spending time with his family, attending hockey games and dance competitions. He loved to tell stories and was always bragging about how proud he was of his grandkids.

He will be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A private visitation will be held on Tuesday and funeral service will be held on Wednesday. Due to the restrictions still in place surrounding COVID-19, attendance at the visitation is limited; to register please copy and paste the following link:

The Bible says,

…if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household,
he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 ASV)

Donald provided for his family out of deep devotion for them. He was never heard to say anything untoward about his wife, Marion. He was so proud, and rightly so, of his daughter, Julie. And his love for his grandchildren, Matthew and Jessie is what kept him alive in his latter years.

There were interests that Donald held close to his heart, automobiles being one of them. I will miss the hours that we spent discussing cars and the automobile industry.
But the legacy that he leaves is the importance of an undying love of family.
