May 9, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Danica (Diane) Ivicek on Friday, May 9, 2025, in her 95th year, at Dom Lipa.
Danica was predeceased by her husband, Franjo; her parents, Jura and Lojza Solic; her sisters, Barica Miladin and Ankica Paljug; and her nephew, Stjepan Miladin.
She will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter Barbara (Nick); her cherished granddaughters Nicole Popovacki and Tanya Pereira (David); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Colton and Raine. She is lovingly remembered by her nieces, Slavica Miladin (United States) and Brankica Paljug, as well as her god-daughter, Vesna Pedesic both in Croatia. She will also be fondly remembered by many dear friends in Canada and Croatia
Born in Redovje, Sv. Jana, Croatia, Danica immigrated to Canada in 1961 in pursuit of a better life for her family. She was a woman of deep faith, strong values, and a generous heart. A passionate baker and community member, Danica was a long-standing parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Church in Toronto and later at the Church of Croatian Martyrs in Mississauga, where she remained active and committed throughout the years.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Dom Lipa for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Danica during her time there, and her long time physcian Dr Maja Seidl.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Danica’s memory may be made to the Church of Croatian Martyrs.
