November 25, 1934 -  March 28, 2018

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Diamanta Kontoulakos, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the age of 83 years. After a dignified battle with dementia, she died peacefully with her much loved family by her side.
Born in a small village, Kaloni, Sparta, Greece, she came to Canada in 1949 with hopes and dreams for something better. Here she met her beloved husband of 59 years, Peter and together through hard work and unwavering commitment to each other realized their dreams of a happy life. In addition to her husband, she leaves to grieve her adoring and loving daughters Joanne Stathakos (Jim) and Helen Vatistas (George). She will be missed by her grandchildren Peter and his wife Angela, and Christina, who she doted on with immense pride and joy and with a grandmother’s love that has no limits. She was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Roberto, Giovanni and Santiago. Diamanta will be missed by her brother, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and her many cousins and friends who she shared her life with. She will be remembered for her warm and infectious smile and her tremendous hospitality. Her legacy is kindness, humility and strong family values. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Sunday from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 136 Sorauren Ave., Toronto, on Monday April 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment Sanctuary Park Cemetery.
