David Jackson Kee (1942-2026) died peacefully at home on March 21, 2026, following a brief hospitalization.
David was born in Cayuga, Ontario in 1942 to Albert and Florence Kee (née Cooper), and was younger brother to the late Wesley Kee. A graduate of Queens University, U of T Law School, and later, Osgoode law school, David spent his career at the firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon, as a partner specializing in financial services. An avid supporter of the arts, he was proud to serve for several years on the board of Music Toronto. His happiest moments included time with family, listening to jazz, a string quartet or an opera, and admiring the ever-changing light over Lake Huron. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, playful humour and kindness.
Beloved husband of 60 years to Alanne Kee, David will be dearly missed by his daughters Vanessa and Christina Kee, sons-in law Attila Ataner and Liad Baniel, and grandchildren Sophia and Alexander Ataner and Dalia and Ezra Baniel.
A remembrance service for David will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 1 p.m., at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto. There will be a visitation between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
