Dave passed away peacefully on November 27 at the age of 77. Dave lived a full life having travelled extensively and fulfilling his long time passion of sailing and spending time on sailboats in Canada and in various parts of the world including the BVIs and other warm and interesting destinations including Turkey, Croatia and Greece. He was an avid Formula 1 fan and over the years attended the Monaco GP twice. Dave loved to socialize, had a great sense of humour and always had a twinkle in his eyes. He enjoyed many good times at the National Yacht Club and on his boat. He was both a sailboat racer and a cruiser and had good laughs with the many friends he made. Dave will be missed by his many friends.
Dave was born in the Manchester area of England. His parents emigrated to Canada when he was 9 years old and he has lived in the Greater Toronto Area since then including the last 20 years in Port Credit, a neighbourhood he really enjoyed.
He leaves behind his brother Peter (Elaine), and his nieces and nephew, Ann-Marie (Paul), Ian (Sarah) and Elizabeth and his great niece Emily and his many friends in Ontario and the UK.
The family extends a big thank you to the friendly and caring staff at The Trillium McCall Centre who looked after Dave for the 7+ months that he spent there. It is greatly appreciated.
Turner and Porter Funeral Home at 2180 Hurontario, Mississauga, ON have been entrusted with Final Arrangements.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date in March.
