In Celebration of

David Clarence Cleland

May 9, 1932 -  December 15, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the age of 85 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Helen. Loving father of Scott, Todd and Reid and their wives Arlene, Margaret and Lisa. Cherished grandfather of Justine, Kevin, Brent, Grant, Reed, Jeff and Holly. David was born in Timmins, ON in 1932 and graduated from McMaster University. Aside from his family, his passions were the family cottage and a long and rewarding career at Spar Aerospace. The family would like to express its deep appreciation to the staff at The Village of Humber Heights for their care and compassion. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Kipling & Islington Aves.) on Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. A celebration of David’s life will be held at the Lambton Golf & Country Club, 100 Scarlett Road, Toronto on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12:30 to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made using this website.

We were so saddened to learn of the passing of our old friend David Cleland. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was universally admired for his open and kind nature, his sense of humour, athletic prowess, and his effectiveness as a business executive. A better friend no one ever had! At long last his long battle with Alzheimers is now over. May he rest in peace. We will always remember the many happy times in years gone by at the cottage, in Florida and all the way back to our courting days in the early fifties. He lives on in our fondest memories! Love to Helen and the entire family, Inez and Dave.
