Dariusz, born in 1961 in Poland, passed away New Year’s Day, 2026. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his two children, a son, and a brother. He will be remembered as someone who valued people, conversation, and shared time, and who brought warmth and humour into everyday life.

As a young man Dariusz was a dancer with Mazowsze, Poland’s renowned folk ensemble. His years with the group allowed him to travel widely and experience the world beyond Poland. It was during this time that he met his wife, who was also a part of the ensemble, beginning a partnership grounded in shared experience and mutual respect.

In the late 1980s Dariusz and his wife settled in Canada where they built their life together and raised their family. Dariusz worked in food service and hospitality, a field that reflected his attentiveness to others and his comfort in working with people. He took care in his work and approached people with humour and consideration, whether in brief exchanges or over many years.

Providing for his family was central to Dariusz’s life. He focused on creating a stable and welcoming home for his family. Family life centered on shared meals, conversation, and time spent together, often with both family and friends. Over the years the household also included two beloved German Shepherds, both of whom were very much part of the family.

As a father, Dariusz was supportive and encouraging. He expressed his pride quietly through presence, reliability, and genuine interest in his children’s lives, welcoming their partners into the family with warmth and open arms. Those closest to him knew him as someone who showed up consistently and cared deeply.

Dariusz is survived by his wife, his two children, his mother, and his brother. He was predeceased by his father.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the steady care he brought to ordinary moments. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made in Dariusz’s memory to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and/or Dorothy Ley Hospice in appreciation of the compassionate care and support they provided to Dariusz and his family.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor Street West) Monday, January 12, 2026 from 4- 6 p.m.
