Daniel Cormack Hennessy

November 12, 1932 -  February 21, 2025


With great sadness, we announce that Daniel Hennessy, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025 in Toronto. Beloved husband of Lillie (2021). Loving father of Jacqueline, Peter, Robert and Denis. “Grandpa Dan” loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Laura, Rachel, Ryan and Abby. Father-in-Law of Tracy and Brenda. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary and by his siblings Kathleen, Breda, Patrick, Tim, Maura, Sean, Christina (Ina), Denis and Carl. Dan leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Also, remembered by the Cavanagh family. The family is grateful to all those who offered kindness and support as his health declined for the past few months.

Daniel was born in Co. Limerick, Ireland. Initially, he moved to Manchester, England before flying to Montreal, Quebec, then moving a few months later to Elliott Lake, Ontario before finally settling in Toronto in the early 1960’s where he met his wife Lillie. He was a 1st Class Stationary Engineer. He enjoyed family vacations and activities with friends, learning new skills and watching sports. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to be open and participate in the opportunities that came their way in Canada. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, on Friday, February 28 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral mass will be held at Transfiguration of our lord Church, 45 Ludstone Dr, Etobicoke, on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 10:45am. A livestream to the mass can be viewed at www.transfigurationchurch.ca
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
