In Celebration of

Dan Belu

August 11, 1963 -  March 23, 2023

It is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Dan Belu, on Thursday, March 23 at the age of 59. Beloved, kind, and caring husband of Ina for 33 years. Loving son of Veronica, son-in-law of Eugenia, Marian and Johny and predeceased by his father Constantin.
Dan was born in Romania in 1963 where later he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the Facultatea de Constuctii Timisoara. He started his journey to Canada with his wife Ina in 1997 where he pursued his passion for computers and started his new career in programming.

Dan’s life cannot be adequately summed up in a few paragraphs. He was a remarkable and reliable person with much to offer, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met as he would not hesitate to help a friend or stranger all the same. He liked a good laugh and enjoyed having conversations about history and how to make this world a better place.

Dan’s extraordinary kindness, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many. He always saw the best in people and surrounded himself with greatness. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues at CAMH.

There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, wherever I am, you will always be in my heart and I will cherish the memories we built together until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to raise awareness of the importance of bystander CPR which may save lives.

Visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter “Peel Chapel”, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga ON, L5B 1M8 (just north of QEW) on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 2 pm, a Celebration of Life at 3 pm, followed by the Reception at 4 pm.
