In Celebration of

Czeslaw "Chester" Padewski

July 20, 1947 -  December 13, 2019

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 13, 2019 in his 72nd year.
Beloved Czesiu to his devoted wife Lucy. Chester was the proudest dad to his two girls Veronica and Sabrina. He warmly welcomed his son-in-law, Nick, to the family. Loving Dziadzia to Gus.
Chester leaves behind his brothers in Poland, Antoni (Jola), Janusz (Danuta), and Franek. He was predeceased by his adopted father Jozef, and parents Wladyslaw and Helena. Cherished son-in-law to Stanislawa and the late Stanislaw. Dear brother-in-law to Krystyna, Mary (Ernie), and Alina (Gord). Fond uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Chester was born in Poland; at the young age of 14 he was adopted by his Uncle Jozef and immigrated to Canada to lay the foundation for a life with unlimited opportunities.
Chester was passionate about architecture from an early age and earned his Architectural Technology degree from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. This led him to his distinguished 33 year career at Suncor Energy, where he focused on Engineering Project Management within the Sunoco Network.
Chester’s sense of humour guided his everyday life and his “dad jokes” are already missed. He wore many hats – landlord, handyman, neighbour, parishioner, photographer, and storyteller. Ultimately, he leaves a legacy as a trusted friend, and family man.
The outpouring of affection and appreciation for Chester during his short illness and since his passing has been remarkable.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor St. West). Tributes will be spoken at 6:45 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
Special thanks to the 6J staff at Mississauga Hospital for the care they provided to the Padewski family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Chester’s honour to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation.

I am shocked and so sorry to hear about your loss. Chester was part of my Suncor life for most of the 33 years I spent at Suncor. I always respected his opinions and his insights. Loved the stories he told, and appreciated the fact that he was one of the few people from Suncor who volunteered to help at my Moparfest event in New Hamburg. Such a good man. He will be missed, but always remembered.

I have known Chester for many years both before and after retirement. He has been a board member and Treasurer of the Suncor Central Ontario Retire Club for many years. I have always enjoyed working with him on the board. He will be missed by all of our club members as he not only collected their money, but he organized the summer event every year. Chester always did more than expected and took care of all the details.
My condolences to the family, his passing will leave a big gap in your lives.
May Chester rest in peace, because he never did when he was here.
