Cynthia Stringer, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully after a life marked by deep faith, loving family, and devoted service to her church.

Cynthia was born September 10, 1928, in Wiltshire, England, to her loving parents, Ronald and Emily Stevenson. She had two sisters, Diane (deceased 2022) and Philippa Mills.

In her early twenties in England, Cynthia became actively involved with the Billy Graham Crusades, volunteering as a counselor. Through these events, she connected with Tony Capon and the Scripture Union ministry. After several trips to Canada during her twenties, she was invited by Tony Capon to Toronto to work as his secretary. While in Toronto, she joined St. Peter’s Anglican Church, where she eventually met her husband, Jeff. Together they became involved in supporting the ministry of Camp Koinonia in Parry Sound, Ontario.

Cynthia loved the Lord her God deeply and spent time reading His Word daily. She lived out her faith through her devotion to family and through faithful service in her church. As her two boys grew up and participated in various youth activities, Cynthia became deeply involved in church life, volunteering and helping organize many activities and fundraising events.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jeffrey; her sons Graham (Patricia) Stringer and Neville (Lori) Stringer; and six grandchildren: Steven, Nathan, and Ryan Stringer, and Avonlea (Noah Bitts), Noelle, and Daniella Stringer.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Monday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Cynthia’s home church, St. Bride’s Anglican Church, 1516 Clarkson Rd N, Mississauga, ON L5J 2W9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scripture Union Canada or Camp Koinonia. The service will be live-streamed.

Cynthia will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering faith in Christ. Her love for God, her family, and her church leaves a legacy that will continue to shape the lives of those who knew and loved her.
