Dear Popadiuk Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear mother. She was such a special, lovely lady. We have lost a beautiful soul but heaven has gained a precious angel, and she is now with her dear John. Connie was a great friend and mentor to me, a young kid, and taught me many life skills. I treasure the wonderful memories I have of her and your family. May she rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It is with great sadness we have to see mom now on this final journey of this life. Many people always ask me about my parents and our family life. Mom and Dad (John Sr) were the best at providing all we needed growing up; food on the table and a wonderful home. Connie loved gadgets, science and technology, she was an early adopter of this stuff in the house. So having a new gadget, music player, or new computer to program was something she would push us into as kids.

We used to call her the typing queen, I guess mom racked up a lot of experience working at Cholkan Real Estate in Toronto and could output 80 words a minute or more. The typewriter would have smoke coming out of it usually. But for mom she loved to read, cook, paint, garden, scrapbook and sit at the dining room table with dad and have a coffee every morning. She was always the voice of reason but also would support the hair-brained schemes we would come up with. Dropping everything to head out to a garage sale or antique store was her favorite.

There are so many good stories to tell that we could write a book 8 inches thick. Sadly we will not have any more disco dance parties at home, with music pounding and lights beaming. Mom will be missed greatly by all of us and as parents there was nothing more they needed to provide, as it has all been just perfect. She is in the hands of Lord now and in a much better place.

Our family would like to thank all for their prayers, visits, thoughts and condolences at this time. Connie has taught us all a lot about ourselves, the world and a lot about life.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
