In Celebration of

Constantinos Daniel (Danny) Panos

June 6, 1937 -  March 29, 2023

Dan Panos passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. After a long battle with dementia, we are comforted knowing that he is now in the warm embrace of his Lord and Savior.
Dan was born in a small town of V’mbel, Macedonia. Sadly, his father passed away when he was only 6. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 9 with his mother, his sister Zoe and brother Don. Although he was unable to speak English when he first arrived, through hard work he excelled at both school and sports and graduated Ryerson University with a degree in business.
Dan met the love of his life, JoAnn, at their first and last singles dance in Toronto. They were married in 1964 and spent 58 cherished years together in Mississauga. Dan was a proud father of Jeff (Lisa) and Danielle (David), and grandfather to Nicole, Hailey, Jacob, Caleb and Jordan.
Dan started his career at Sears as a buyer in Peterborough. He moved back to Toronto in 1967 when he joined the Corona Jewellery Company. He had a long and successful jewellery career, spending over 50 years at Corona. His job allowed him to travel the world and make many friends along the way. Dan received the honorary distinction of becoming a Lifetime Member of the 24 Karat Club and in 2010 he was presented the Chairman's Award from the Canadian Jewellery Association.
Dan was a sports enthusiast. He loved to play golf and was an avid fan of the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. Dan and JoAnn enjoyed summers on Georgian Bay at the family cottage and spent 30 years celebrating Christmas with their extended “Mariner” family on St. Pete’s Beach in Florida.
Dan and JoAnn were faithful members of St. Bride’s Anglican Church for over 50 years. One of Dan’s fondest memories was leading the Youth Program at St. Bride’s and the kids he served. Dan lived his life exemplifying Jesus, with his tender compassion and unconditional love. He touched many people’s lives wherever he went, both in his personal and business life, always ready to listen and to share the love of Christ. Dan will be remembered for his warm smile, enormous hugs, and long conversations.
Dan was predeceased by his mother Mara, father Risto, and brother Don.
He will be missed. We love you, Dad.

In memory of Dan and his work with the youth, donations to Covenant House would be appreciated.

The funeral service will be live-streamed by the church. Please click the button below or visit the church's website.

Dan Panos was a true friend. Dan was the most friendly person with a firm handshake and the strongest hug that I have ever experienced. I don't believe that he ever had a negative thought and his smile was infectious. Dan made me smile and made me happy everytime I saw him. My own mother suffered with dementia. It was not pleasant. It was God's will that my mother and my friend experienced this desease. Please accept our sincerest condolences. God Bless Dan. Mike and family.
