In Celebration of

Christopher McAllister

June 18, 1974 -  September 5, 2016

Passed away suddenly and without warning at his home at the age of 42. A kind and gentle man who was much loved and will be sorely missed by his parents, James and Cathryn McAllister, Maureen Campbell, his brother and best friend Michael McAllister, sister Ashley McAllister, brother-in-law Benjamin Moffitt and nephew William Moffitt, as well as his uncle and aunt David and Debbie McAllister, cousins Mark, Taryn and Carly and their families. Christopher was predeceased by his grandparents, Ann and William McAllister and Bea and Howard Campbell, all formerly of Manitoba and BC.
All of Christopher’s family and his many friends knew him to be a highly intelligent but humble person who was always willing to help out when called upon to do so. Chris was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba but spent all but the first five years of his life in Toronto where he was an outstanding student at North Agincourt Junior Public School, Sir Alexander Mackenzie Senior Public School, Agincourt Collegiate Institute (ACI) and the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. A gentle giant, in later life he was a tireless worker for the Fort York Food Bank and for Evelyn House. Chris was an avid film buff, a great fan of food and cooking shows, loved role-playing games and video games and spent many hours enjoying these pastimes with family and friends. He loved to cook and bake, especially his roast turkey, mulled wine and fudge at Christmas. He was also an avid gardener, particularly when it came to helping his father with their many flowers and plants.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 2 p.m., until the time of the service in the Chapel at 3 p.m.

Thinking of Mike and the rest of the family at this time. I have so many great memories of doing shows with Chris during our years at ACI. I'm so very sorry for the loss of this remarkable man.

My sincerest condolences to the Macallistar family on the sudden passing of Chris. I remember many conversations with Chris. He was very deep and thought provoking in conversation. He wouldn't let you away with just stating something. He made you explain yourself, point out the facts or face your misconceptions. My prayer is for peace and comfort for those left to mourn his loss.

Sincerely,

Lisa (Whyte) Rayner

My sincerest condolences to the family. I worked with Chris for a brief time at the food bank where he led the Steering Committee. He has always friendly, welcoming and extremely committed to the food bank. He will be greatly missed by all at FYFB.

We mourn Chirstopher's passing with your family.
Bengt and I have known Chris since his birth. We wanted him grow from a bright and inquisitive child into and energetic young man with a passion to learn.
We remember fondly having our sons spend time with Chris and Michael and the joy they had as they grew and explored their world.
