Charles William Michael (Mike) Jackson

July 8, 1939 - February 13, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Mike on Friday, February 13, 2026 at The Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, Ontario.

A beloved husband of Paulette; much loved father of Chris (Kate Vrancart) and Scott (Donna Wallis); loving grandfather of Moe, Hank and George; dear brother of the late Paul (Sandra Jackson). Mike was a graduate of North Toronto Collegiate, Queen’s University and Price Waterhouse. He was president of Pechiney World Trade (Canada) for most of his career.

Mike was loved for his quiet reserved manner and his wisdom. He was a wonderful athlete and took great pleasure in coaching his sons as well as being a spectator at their games.

A gathering to celebrate Mike’s life is expected to take place in late spring or early summer.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I have such fond memories of Mike throughout my whole life. From childhood family ski trips and bi-annual Queen’s alumni and families’ parties to cottage fun, and neighbourhood gatherings, Mike was always up for a good time!

Mike was like a second father to Sue and I growing up. Always the kind, calm, grounding presence. He will be missed by us all.

Always wonderful memories of Mike - from him coaching me T-Ball in the "shale pit" with Specialty Steel sponsorships on our jerseys, to my first few runs down "Big John" and "Landslide" at Craigleith... and fun back at Cranberry Village and Dunedin Drive. Mainly listening to him tease Scott & Chris and them give it back just as much.
Thinking about all my Jackson/Vrancart/Wallis friends at this time - especially Paulette! Love you all!
