In Celebration of

Charles Moodalie

May 6, 1930 -  June 23, 2021

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at Trillium Palliative Care, Mississauga in his 91st year. A devoted husband, beloved father, and cherished grandfather, Charles’ memories will live on through his stories, sense of humour and unending love.

Born in Trinidad, Charles was the last of six siblings. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Dollsie Moodalie (née Ramlogan), and the two raised five children over their 56 years of marriage: Evangeline (Brian), Judith, Hyacinth (Andreas), Garrette and Karena. Charles and Dollsie immigrated to Canada in 1971 where they worked tirelessly to give their family the best life possible. A man of faith, Charles was an involved member of Patterson Presbyterian Church and Cooksville United Church. He found great happiness in being grandpa to Elyse (Cody), Amanda (Blaise), Raphael and Olivia.

Charles is predeceased by his parents; siblings Goindoo, Ramoo, Manar, Lincoln and Wilyama; and wife Dollsie. He is survived by his children and grandchildren. Charles is also being remembered by his large extended family and especially his nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, and his many friends. He was loved by so many.

Condolences can be sent to the family on the Turner and Porter website. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Due to Covid-19 protocols, attendance is very limited and must be reserved in advance. The family will be coordinating the guest list in accordance with the protocols.

Charles and I met at Naparima Training College for teachers in 1955. He had such an engaging spirit. On completion we went our separate ways but luckily met again when both our families immigrated to Canada in 1969. Charles loved to reminisce and maintained his jovial disposition. We will miss him and our telephone conversations. Heartfelt condolences to his family.
