In Celebration of

Charles Barry Firman

March 30, 1938 -  April 19, 2018

On April 19, 2018, we said goodbye to our dearest husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Barry succumbed to an aggressive Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after less than a month of illness. He leaves his loving wife of 54 years Donna (Dyke) Firman and children John Edward and Timothy Charles and grandson Johnny Reid as well as Carrie Reid. He also leaves his much loved nephew, Jeffrey and his wife Donna Dyke (Shelburne) and their three children Justin, Hayley and Kyle who have been like grandchildren to him. He also leaves his many friends whom he always left laughing in any business, finance, political or sports discussion. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Kingsway Anglican Church, 2850 Bloor St. West on Tuesday May 8, 2018. Visitation will be at 11:00 am and the service at 12:00 pm, with reception to follow at the Church. Interment will follow later in the year. In lieu of flowers we would like donations to be sent to Mount Sinai ICU. Its wonderful doctors and nurses are especially caring and considerate. They have to be Engineers, IT experts as well as gentle nurses. Barry-“You are braver than you believe, Stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know.” Donna

How well I remember those fun weekends at “the farm” with Barry & Donna, Pat & Fred & Glenn with the standup comedy routines (almost) so much laughter. Rest in peace Barry & I imagine you & Glenn might be having a beer or black rum(Woods) by now.

Hi Donna,

So sorry to hear about Barry, Bill (Leuty) phoned last night and gave us the sad news. You and Barry were always so nice/kind/generous to me and my family and I truly appreciated that. Barry was kind enough to provide me with 2 tickets to a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey game many years ago......a super special treat to this life long fan!! My memories of Barry are as a relaxed/funny guy. Please accept my deepest condolences.
